Case study | A coherent and successful partnership with IRVA

The client company whose case study we share with you in this article is the IRVA, who came to Samsys through a consultant who knew the reality of the company and who presented a suggestion for improvement as soon as he realized the existence of room for improvement.

The client had a PHC solution and wanted to make the best use of this tool. The need arises to expand the solution to the shop floor and to the logistical control.

After the first analysis of requirements, we considered it necessary to perform a functional survey, given the specificity of the two processes mentioned above, which is a starting point for the partnership with this company in 2016.

Area of activity of the “Irmãos Valentes” company

IRVASince its foundation in 1979, IRVA – Irmãos Valentes, Lda., has evolved strategically, currently its specialty is to work with stainless steel, duplex steel, super duplex, carbon steel, and special steels. IRVA builds machines, equipment, components, and accessories and performs industrial assemblies, on a global or partial basis. It realizes facilities for the industries: food, beverage, cellulose, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical and processing works industries.

Challenge for Samsys

The business growth and the demand of IRVA’s clients culminated in the urgency to obtain real-time data of the projects in production. This need led to IRVA looking for the Samsys’s services, where we were able, through the functional survey, to prove to be a partner able to create an ideal solution that helps to grow.

The challenge for Samsys was to make the logistics and factory floor processes digital so that it was able to respond in real-time to the state of the projects being produced.

The logistics process was ambitious, due to the need for stock control in two measurement units, kilos and units. In response to this need, the Appsys Logistics, an online mobility application that does not involve data integration, a database was used to make the management of the warehouse processes easier, with an intuitive interface and easy to use, it has been adapted to the identified specificities.

The factory floor process aimed to maintain good practices and simplicity in the manual process. With its digitization, it allows obtaining, in real-time, the consumptions and production times. The Appsys Base Floor was used, which is an application for production kiosks, without data integration, with an equally practical interface, which was adapted to the company.

Our contribution – customized PHC solution

Nowadays, by obtaining the information in real-time, it is possible to monitor the projects in production and respond, more efficiently, to the needs of the clients of this company. The optimization of the logistical process allowed a better efficiency in the management of stocks, which leads to the reduction of costs. On the other hand, the simplification of the process of factory floor allows us to know, at the time, values of consumption’s expenses and production time, which makes that the company marshal its business better.
