Social Media Hackathon: The first event on Social Media in Portugal

O Social Media Hackathon - Or first social networking event in the country, had the city of Vila Nova de Famalicão as its epicenter, on the 28th and 29th of June, had more than 20 experts and professionals invited as speakers of influence in the area of ​​digital marketing.

These were two days of insights aligned with the market needs, trends in the field of digital marketing, which included topics such as Influencer Marketing, Content Marketing, Video Marketing, E-commerce, among others, where case studies of companies and well-known brands were presented. In addition, there were several speed meeting, where participants had the opportunity to enrich their network of contacts with speakers and brands.

A Communication Team at Samsys, as a specialist in design, marketing and communication was present on both days of the event, with the primary objective of keeping up to date on the new concepts and innovations that are highlighted in the area of ​​digital marketing, as well as being open to attend lectures by specialists who bring new visions on the topics we deal with every day.

How is our behavior on Social Media?

On average, in Portugal, we spend 2 hours and 16 minutes a day on social media and the two questions that arise are: “What do we do for so long on the networks?” and “Will it be a waste of time?”.

In fact, the form and use we give to the social media differs depending on the purpose we have and what we intend to obtain through them.

In short, surveys beget surveys! The more content we consume on the internet, the more we want to search.

All about… Content!

The way in which the social media it has to do with brand identity and the content must be targeted to the target audience. This content must have a purpose, relevance and authenticity.

There are two types of viral content: the predictable (the one we can predict through a previously defined strategy) and the unpredictable (the one we cannot control and can become pejorative for the brand).

Each person is a communication pixel and it is essential to be aware that, in order to be successful, we have to “be connected in the right place, at the right time”, with a self-sustainable strategy of creating a communication and production plan. Branded content.

Storytelling e Video Marketing

A good story has to be felt to trigger emotions, and for that, there are three essential ingredients for its creation: people, conflict and a clear message.

O storytelling is allied to video marketing and it becomes a fundamental strategy for every business, as people associate themselves with a brand because they identify with the story it tells. In just 1 minute it is possible to create an impactful story.

Influence of micro-moments in decision making

People want immediate answers to their questions and they search according to what they are experiencing and feeling at the moment, which alerts them to their needs.

Currently, we already assume that search engines “know” what we want and the information we like to receive right after the research we do, and this dictates the crucial points of our searches: “I want to know”, “I want to go”, “I want to do” and “I want to buy”.

E-commerce, how to accelerate a project?

For the execution of a well defined strategy It is necessary to take into account three important variables: the management, technology and communication. With these variables we were able to clarify all the points present in the execution of a project of E-commerce:

  • Product: investing in a niche market, margin and management of stock;
  • Team: presupposes processes and systems;
  • Strategy: taking into account customers, average sales and repeat purchases).
