In 1998, Samsys was celebrating its first year of existence, still in its first facilities, when a call culminated in something very positive for this young company, and for those who would become its partners of excellence: Sovinorte.
Core of Sovinorte Company
From 1975 to Sovinorte - Northern Glass Society, Lda. is present on the market with technological update, industrial experience and ability to respond appropriately to the demands of its customers.
It is based in Rio Tinto, in the municipality of Gondomar, where they work in the branch of glass and plane mirror manufacturing industry. It explores the segments of the Furniture Industry, Interior Remodeling Area and Decoration Area.
No first contact there was an urgent and central need for the company to function, namely the replacement of some machines e hardware that required renovation and would become the main focus at an early stage.
With the evolution of both companies, Samsys ended up becoming, in 2011, the company responsible for all the company's software management.
This vote of confidence was taken by the head of the glass company, André Costa, who, referring to that phase, clarifies: “The company had progressed a lot, but was starting to stagnate. Communication was difficult between the different work areas and departments».
Challenge for Samsys
In 2010 there was a need to improve company communication – this was the real challenge posed to Samsys.
The next steps involved evaluating the competition, figuring out how they could improve and “putting things in the balance”, as André said.
Samsys' mission was to coordinate and unify the areas of Production, Finance, Software and Communication.
At a visual level, some decisions were taken that changed the way the brand was being communicated. Creating a layout for the internal documents and improving the website were two of the most significant changes.
As regards processes management, the work was even more challenging and motivating, since through the ERP PHC Advanced a new management and work system was created, which completely changed Sovinorte's day-to-day and organization.
Our contribution – customized PHC solution
«What do you need to produce today? For whom? To deliver when? And how am I going to gather the information needed for each tag?” – these were André Costa's questions that, with the involvement of the Samsys team, were being answered. The solution lay in the customization of the ERC PHC, thus allowing it to be adapted to the real needs of Sovinorte.
Almost seven years have passed and the result is very positive.
